Georgel releases his newest single off his EP, Oscuro. The song, titled "SUPERSAD", is an artistic and songwriting collaboration with two recent Latin GRAMMY nominees: Diamante Eléctrico and Marco Mares. "SUPERSAD" kicks off with a deliciously laid back nostalgia, and takes you on a journey into the chorus which has a powerful hook that doesn't let you go. Its timeless soul stands out as a clear determination in Georgel's identity.
After producing six songs for his EP Oscuro, Juan Galeano (Diamante Eléctrico) and Georgel invited Marco to a session that finalized the concept of the EP and became the spearhead for Georgel to present his Oscuro side to the world.
"Diamante and Marco are artists with whom I have felt identified for years, especially for their way of making music on their own terms, without being anchored to a "Major Label" and without focusing on the musical trends of the moment...seeing them nominated for the Latin Grammys gives me back a lot of hope for the future of independent music; with "Supersad", we met musically and personally too, and I think the result was to such a degree that the three of us felt that instinct that the song had the soul of the 3 projects and so without much planning we ended up singing it together."
Georgel has collaborated with artists like Nanpa Básico, Esteman, Kat Dahlia and Molotov among others. This year he was named by The Latin GRAMMY Record Academy as one of the 5 LGBTQ+ Latinx Artists On The Rise, and has been featured by International Media in the US and Latin America including Billboard, Rolling Stone and Vice in countries such as Argentina and Colombia, as well as Mexico. In early 2022, he is preparing to release his first studio album titled 'Claroscuro', and will soon be announcing his first shows in some US and Mexico cities, scheduled for 2022.
