La Banda Elástica (LBE) is one of the premiere publications in the Latin Alternative and Rock En Español genres. It has been an inspiration to many of us in this industry because of their complete coverage and incredible photos by co-founder and CFO Maria Madrigal. Side-by-side with CEO Emilio Morales, the two have made history and flourished. LBE was also one of the few publications in this genre that was published in print and available for subscription. Almost 30 years later, we are so happy to see them still kicking a** in 2021. We want to congratulate LBE on the new site, new features, and LBE radio and we wish Emilio, Maria, and the entire LBE team much continued success! Gracias LBE for being part of the history that has motivated us to do what we do today! Check out the press release and more info on LBE below!
Los Angeles, CA - Ahead of its 30th anniversary in 2022, La Banda Elástica (LBE), the seminal Latin alternative music magazine and online media company that helped shape the U.S. Latino alternative music scene and beyond, premiered its website during the 2021 edition of the Latin Grammy Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The newly revamped labandaelastica.com features eye-popping design to complement deep dives and quick takes on emerging artists and established pioneers in the global Spanish-language alternative music community — a hallmark of LBE since it first launched in 1992. The site also features a live radio station, showcasing global alternative sounds, as well as the live video session series “Hecho En Casa,” (“Homemade”) filmed in its L.A. studio (see the episode with Mon Laferte below.)
For La Banda Elástica’s digital reboot, LBE founders Emilio Morales and Maria Madrigal have put together a new team of music writers, photographers, and collaborators to continue their mission to elevate Latin, Iberian and Brazilian musicians who break musical barriers or renew traditional sounds.
